Bio
Annie Rose an artist, an activist, a community organizer, a lover of spreadsheets and kitty cats, and a realtor. Her job is to help your real estate dreams come true, whether it is finding the sweetest of bungalows or starting an urban farm & housing co-operative. Does that dream of living next door to all your best friends? It could be more possible than you think! She is here to help you explore what home means to you. With her years of experience in innovative, outside the white picket fence housing, she can expand the options of what you can do with what you buy and highlight the best sides of the home you are selling. Annie Rose lived in Portland since 2004, and she loves this town. It is changed so much, and it is going to keep changing. Who is going to shape these changes? She believes every Portlander has a right to the safe, stable, nourishing housing that provides the firm ground we need beneath us to continue to change our city to a more equitable and just place. Which is why housing advocacy is so incredibly important to Annie Rose. One of the reasons she decided to become a realtor was to contribute to affordable housing work in our community, from bringing warm clothes to houseless folks on freezing nights to using her professional standing to advocate for affordable housing measures on a state and city level. She is an advisory board member of Proud Ground, a housing land trust that creates permanently affordable homes, and she is committed to giving back to housing non-profits. Annie Rose believes in the people of Portland, and through homeownership we can care for ourselves and each other in a way that no corporate entity or profit machine ever will be able to. That is where her passion for Real Estate Outside the White Picket Fence comes in. She wants Portlanders to have access to the housing options and possibilities that are guarded so closely by the real estate big guns. We can do so much! ADUs are a great example--every day homeowners are able to do a development project on their own property, with their own resources, thus increasing the housing density in our city. Rental income from ADUs stays in our community, they provide safety-net housing, they’re a great way to live in community while not having to bug anyone about doing their dishes. Developers build units and capital. Portlanders build homes and community wealth. Annie Rose knew ADUs were the future, which is why she jumped on early--she is the nation’s first accredited ADU Specialist Realtor. But we can go even further Outside the White Picket Fence! Just a few of the projects she works on: Detached Bedrooms Detached Offices Buying with Friends Multigenerational living Condominium style ownership of ADU / main house Building multiple houses on a big lot Apartment dwellers purchasing their apartment building Tiny houses on wheels Cooperative Purchasing Non-profit property ownership Sweat equity as a tool of wealth redistribution Cottage Clusters Multifamily units Compounds Urban Farms Preparing for the future of housing The way people do real estate is changing, and Annie Rose is here to help you navigate the cutting edge without getting sliced.
