Bio
After a short span in real-estate sales, Amelie Escher has proven successful assisting both buyers and sellers in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She has listed and sold properties representing a range of price points and styles, including townhouses and condominiums, converted barns, single-family homes and more. In the past few years, she is also developed a first-hand expertise with multi-family properties and is a solid resource for the buyer seeking such a property. While a real-estate purchase or sale is, at its heart, a business transaction, aesthetics plays a critical role in evaluating properties. Amelie has become a trusted design advisor to her clients. While living in Los Angeles, she created a successful home design and staging business (see her work in such films as “Oceans 12” and “Surfer Dude”.) Whether clients are buying an older home in need of renovation or an existing home in great condition that simply needs some character or needs to fit a lifestyle, Amelie finds solutions for buyers and sellers. “I like to look at how clients want to live, understand what is important to them and then craft a plan tailor-made to them. Solutions that are highly specific to what they are looking for,” says Amelie. “Real estate was the natural progression for the work I was doing. I can see the potential for space rather than what it is in its present state.” Born and raised in Princeton, N.J., Amelie is a graduate of The Lawrenceville School and Kenyon College, where she earned a B.A. in Art History. She later worked for Merrill Lynch and attended interior design classes at the University of California-Los Angeles. Amelie is certified by Home Staging Resource, one of the only nationally recognized programs in this skill, in home staging. Amelie recently brought her mother, Connie Escher, on board to add Connie’s deep knowledge of Princeton to her real-estate business. Connie is a licensed realtor in New Jersey. It is impossible for Amelie’s enthusiasm and upbeat nature to go unnoticed – she is outgoing and gregarious. She also is amazingly comfortable using technology to communicate with clients, using whatever channel they prefer. Licensed to sell real estate in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Amelie has a great deal of experience evaluating contractors and subcontractors in the greater Philadelphia area. This has been particularly helpful to clients buying investment properties and historical homes. In her free time, she enjoys watercolor painting, time at the New Jersey shore and hunting down treasures at auctions and antique shops. She also volunteers for Trinity Episcopal Church’s annual rummage sale in Princeton, where her knowledge of each year’s inventory and ability to manage a crowd is valued by the entire group running this fundraising event. Amelie is based in Kurfiss Sotheby’s International Realty’s New Hope office.
