Bio
Resourceful and devoted, Alex Irwin takes the time to thoroughly understand his clients’ requirements, while maintaining a reputation of efficient work in creating value and cost savings. With more than 10 years of experience in the Greater Charleston market, Alex specializes in identifying personalized solutions for corporate occupiers and institutional investors in industrial commercial real estate. Since joining Avison Young, Alex and his team have sourced numerous large tracts of land for industrial development projects while also assisting clients, such as LRC Properties in the leasing of its 1-million-square-foot industrial campus at World Trade Center Charleston. In addition, his team served Five Rivers Development in the disposition of its multiple-building portfolio across South Carolina, as well as Magnus Development Partners in the leasing of its multiple-phase speculative development in Beaufort Commerce Park. Prior to joining Avison Young, Alex worked for two top-five international commercial real estate firms in Charleston. He has brokered dozens of high-value transactions, involving industrial, office, and land properties. Alex launched into a career in commercial real estate brokerage right out of college. At age 25, he was named one of his Newmark's national “Under 35 Stars” and sat on a panel at the company’s 2015 National Industrial Strength Connections Summit. Before turning 28, Alex was twice recognized in his firm’s state-wide top-five producers. A former NCAA Division I college basketball player at the University of South Carolina, Alex proudly brings the same work ethic, determination and collaboration he demonstrated on the hardwood to his commercial real estate practice. When he isn’t grinding on a warehouse requirement, Alex enjoys coaching basketball at Porter Gaud School and playing his Fender Rhodes electric piano.
