Overview
At Klappenberger & Son, we define "best franchise" in several ways, but it all comes down to being the most profitable.
To build the best painting and handyman franchise, Klappenberger & Son looked into other painting and handyman franchises' training, support, fees, and territory size. After evaluating the other franchises, the overarching question is, "Is there anything our franchise could do better that would have a significant improvement over our competitors?"
Klappenberger & Son discovered that we excel in 5 specific areas:
- Longer and one on one training
- Larger territories
- Improved marketing techniques
- Lower franchise fees
- Franchise Fee Guarantee
- If you follow our simple marketing plan for 20 months and fail to gross $500,000, we will fully refund your franchise fee!

History
Klappenberger & Son opened its doors in Dec 1989 in Annapolis, MD. David’s wife, Jean, oversaw all the admin duties. After 20 years of operating the business and being involved in physical labor, David changed his model to focus on management and growth. The company tripled in gross sales and staff size over three years.
Klappenberger & Son was awarded jobs at the Pentagon, Smithsonian, White House, and thousands of residential and commercial projects. By 2015, David had trained 100’s painters and a dozen or so estimators. Several painters went on to start successful painting businesses of their own.
In 2015, David and Jean decided to take their 25 years of proven success and show others how to start and grow their painting and handyman business through franchising.
