What do we do?
Our Estate Sale business is hired to sell (liquidate) a person's belongings from their home. There are various reasons consumers desire to hire an estate sale company - divorce, downsizing, an aging parent moving into a care home, selling a second home, or the death of a loved one. We receive referrals from real estate agents, lawyers, estatesales.org, internet/facebook searches, and the general public who attend our sales.
Our business has been operated as a partnership by a father/daughter team for 5 years. Due to the upcoming relocation of one of the partners out of state we are now needing to sell our business. Within our industry we have developed very good name/brand recognition and a strong referral network providing enough leads that we are typically booked out 3-6 months in advance. Through social media we have built a loyal following of over 3,000 buyers that we bring into each of our 4 day sales.
What we love about our business:
1. Schedule flexibility. We love that we determine our own schedule, when we will work and when we will take days off. On average, after signing a contract with a client, we work about 5-6 hours a day 5 days a week for the two weeks leading up to the date of the sale. Sometimes more and sometimes less, depending on the size of the house/property.
2. We love helping people. When someone is needing to liquidate their belongings, regardless of the reason, it is usually a very emotional and overwhelming situation. We find it very rewarding that we are able to help people through this time and provide them with a positive experience.
3. We decide what sales we will take. If a home does not have enough items in it to have an estate sale, we provide the customer resources and options to try and help them dispose of their items.
