Established 12 years ago, and with 10 years of steady growth, we've priced our stone engraving business well below its true value, in order to secure a quick sale. We must relocate soon to assist parents with declining health. Our goal is to move by the end of February.

We began Earth Surface Engraving in 2012, and within a few short years it became a full time operation for two. Steadily building a reputation for quality workmanship and engraving personalized designs deeply into natural stone and rock.

With our attention to detail and personalized customer service, we've earned hundreds of 5-Star reviews through our Google Business Profile and our Etsy shop. We've fulfilled many thousands of orders over the years.

To the new owner will be transferred our Google Business Profile (with 328 Five Star Reviews), nearly 3,800 customer contacts (many of whom provide us with repeat business), our website, several website domains, our main email address, stone engraving equipment (see list below), remaining rock and stone inventory, over 13,000 digital photos of our work to use as reference, and basic training to get you started. Etsy shops are non-transferrable and so you would need to set up your own Etsy shop, if you wish to use their platform.

How many hours do I have to work per week? If this is your first question, then this is not the business for you, and you should keep searching.

The new owner should be self motivated and not afraid to work. In reality, you could make the business part time or full time simply by adding or limiting the stone choices that you offer. Of course, limiting your products will reduce the business income. Our normal stone choices include palm size stones, 3 sizes of river rocks, 4 sizes of tumbled bluestone, 4 types of stepping stones, ledge stone, and rainbow sandstone.

Several months ago, we removed some of these normal stone offerings from our website in order to slow the work-load and free up some time to work on a house that we must also sell before moving. These products included our natural stepping stones, ledge stones, and rainbow sandstones. They are a bit more labor intensive, but I would advise bringing them back in, if your goal is to maximize income.

This is truly a unique opportunity for such an incredible price. However, for our situation, family must come first.

Competition
For stone engraving, the main edge we've always had over our competitors, is taking the time necessary to engrave a personalized design deeply into the rock or stone. Because this deep engraving is clearly evident in our example photos, it has allowed us to charge higher prices than our competitors, for similar items. If a competitor only "etches" the stone surface, then the engraving will not hold up over the years. Our stones are engraved to last a lifetime.
Growth & Expansion
We have had steady growth for 10+ years, which I can show in P&L statements as well as tax returns. Sales dipped the second half of 2024 due to the Presidential Election uncertainty as well as our decision to remove some key product offering from our website (this was to free up time to work on our move). We've done no advertising for years now. However, bringing our side-lined product back and investing a small amount in advertising and you would probably get more orders than you could handle (unless you have helpers).
Support & Training
Good stone engraving techniques come with experience, and we're happy to share our knowledge and techniques with the buyer. We'll also train on creating stone design layouts and our general, day to day running of the business. Will share resources for stone suppliers, spare parts, etc.
