Wellborn and Deacon will be a lighted intersection with a grade level crossover the railroad tracks on Deacon into the Barracks (Las Vegas style development with a water park and club house – 4000 students) back to Mission Ranch (a new residential subdivision that is nearly sold out and houses in the $400-700k range), and the 10th new elementary school to the west on Holleman and Rock Prairie that opened in August of this year. They anticipate already heavy traffic flows doubling once construction is completed. Please find attached a flyer depicting a new development on the morning side of the commute on Wellborn road just south (1,000 yards) of the new HEB at Jones Crossing. The flyer depicts drawings from the city confirming this is going to be a lighted intersection (city estimates Q4 this year for construction). Cain-Deacon Exhibit shows the new lighted intersection and grade level railroad crossing. The city has also finalized their work with Union Pacific and begin construction Q4 this year. Both have already be approved by city council, bids were accepted, and awarded for each. This will allow the Barracks https://www.barrackstownhomes.com/amenities.html (waterpark and student development in College Station) direct access to Wellborn at Deacon and deliver them right to the development. Additionally, the new elementary school (10th in CS) on Holleman and Rock Prairie will open and use Wellborn and Deacon as the access for North, South, and East routes for parents and buses picking up and dropping off students. Lastly, Mission Hills http://caldwellcos.com/development/residential/mission-ranch is the new subdivision by the school that is nearly sold out.
