Karankawa Village (6,112 Sq. Ft.) is an eight room, two story lodge with expanded wrap around porches, outdoor fireplaces and views of the water. Customers range from those coming to hunt, fish, bird watch and the year long visitors coming to enjoy the beach and coastal area with its abundant wildlife and beauty. The lodge is perfect for corporate fishing retreats, wedding parties and reunions. The rooms currently hold 1 bed per room with the exception of one. In order to increase current rental rates the rooms could be reconfigured to accommodate additional bedding and extended stays could be offered to accommodate those wishing to stay weekly or monthly. Each of the eight rooms is uniquely decorated, featuring fine organic bedding, large bathrooms and original artwork. Gourmet coffees and flat screen televisions are found in each room. The wrap around porch gives each room a balcony and two outdoor living rooms with fireplaces, There has been a no pet and no smoking policy. Ft.) on the property is currently a mercanitle store with kitchen and bar which draws business from all over Texas. It could be taken over as a store or converted to add additional lodging, a restaurant, or event center to accommodate reunions, weddings or the various festivals and fundraisers held in Matagorda. The building has a kitchen, two customer bathrooms, utility room for laundry and plenty of storage space in the loft.
