Great Meadowbrook Farm, a 359.5-acre former dairy farm that is located in Hardwick, MA, just to the east of the Quabbin Reservoir. The property consists of: 157 acres of hay fields, 145 acres of woodland, 28 acres of “wetland,” 4.5 acres of land occupied by buildings, and 15.5 acres of pasture. There is a number of existing structures on the property, including: a 14,000-square-foot barn, a two-family 3,390-square-foot house across the street from the barn, a 1,344-square-foot farm worker’s residence, a 3,400-square-foot Quonset Hut, and a 2,200-square-foot barn used for storage. Since 1998, a number of substantial capital projects and land improvements to the property have been completed by the current owners, including the restoration of the 60-year-old Dairy Barn and the two-family home across the street, and clearing and restoration of fields. The Barn is used primarily for hay storage, and also contains office space, a garage and workshop, and an apartment that is rented. The main house with 3,390 sq. ft. and a tile roof is currently divided into two apartments and sits on the north side of Barre Road across from the main barn. The large 14,000-square-foot former dairy barn has been renovated to hold farm equipment and workshops for wood and metal working, as well as storage. There is a second 3-bedroom home that is in need of repair on the south side of Barre Road, which is within the APR lands, but available to be renovated on its existing footprint. A second equipment barn is located to the west of the main house on the north side of Barre Road.
